Tecnis Lifestyle Lens
Finally, the opportunity to be free from reading glasses & bifocals
Although most people over the age of 60 experiences some level of blurry vision due to cataracts, and almost everyone over 50 loses their ability to read comfortably without reading glasses due to age related lens dysfunction (presbyopia), the Tecnis Multifocal Lens now makes it possible to regain performance more like that of younger eyes. Until recently, life without reading glasses or bifocals wasn't an option for most cataract patients.
The Tecnis Multifocal IOL® is a unique technological innovation that can provide you with enhanced image quality and a full range of vision – near, far and everywhere in-between – for increased independence from reading glasses or bifocals under all lighting conditions!
Through advancements in lens technology, we now have an intraocular lens available that can provide the patient a range of vision (near through distance) enabling a high degree of freedom from spectacles. The Tecnis Multifocal intraocular lens provides a full range of functional vision for patients who have a strong desire to significantly decrease their dependence on glasses and contacts. Nearly 9 out of 10 patients enjoy freedom from glasses after receiving the Tecnis Multifocal Lens.
How does the Tecnis Lens work?
As we perform daily activities such as reading, watching television or working at the computer, our eyes are constantly focusing on objects at varying distances – up close, far away and in-between. The ability to quickly change focus throughout our range of vision is called accommodation. Unfortunately, we begin to lose this ability as we grow older (usually in the 40’s), gradually becoming more and more dependent on bifocals or reading glasses.
Thankfully, by combining the strengths of a fully diffractive posterior surface and a patented wavefront-designed anterior aspheric surface, the Tecnis Multifocal Lens can now provide quality near, intermediate and distance vision, and increased independence from reading glasses or bifocals under all lighting conditions.
During the Tecnis Multifocal clinical studies, patients experienced lifestyle enhancement through quality vision, and greater freedom from reading glasses and bifocals. In fact, according to the clinical studies, an overwhelming majority of people who had received the Tecnis Multifocal Lens were very satisfied with their vision following the procedure, and 94% said they would elect to do it again.
