Dr. Christopher Diehl OD, FAAO
After completing his Bachelor's Degrees at the University of Iowa, Dr. Christopher Diehl graduated cum laude in 2011 from Illinois College of Optometry (located in Chicago). He completed an ocular disease residency at the Louis B. Stokes VAMC in Cleveland, OH. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is ACMO Certified (Advanced Competence in Medical Optometry) by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Prior to joining Associated Ophthalmologists, Dr. Diehl practiced in a hospital in Southeast Iowa, where he provided specialized contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care, and advanced management of ocular disease to underserved populations. He is excited to use his training and experience to provide outstanding services and care to the Des Moines community.
His professional interests include primary care, ocular disease, pediatric and binocular vision, specialty and routine contact lens fits, low vision aids, and pre-surgical and post-surgical care. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Iowa Optometric Association.
Dr. Diehl is originally from Ankeny, IA. He is happily married to his wife Beth. They have one son and one daughter.
