Dr. Jennifer DenHartog received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Psychology, from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She has been practicing at Associated Ophthalmologists, PC since 2001.

Dr. DenHartog is an active member of the Iowa Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, as well as the Contact Lens Society.  Her practice emphasis includes primary eye care and the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.  She fits a variety of contact lenses including mulitfocals, keratoconus, soft, and gas permeable lenses. She has been quoted in the Des Moines Register regarding the latest contact lens technology as options for Baby Boomers.

Dr. DenHartog is a native of Newton, Iowa, and currently resides in Urbandale with her husband. She is active in her local church and volunteers with various non-profit organizations including the Lions Club and the Christian Medical Dental Association.  She collects eyeglasses and supplies to provide eye care to those in need both in Des Moines and globally.  Her most recent eye projects were in South Africia, Zambia, the Dominican Republic, and the Galapagos where along with other volunteers, she provided eye exams and prescription eyeglasses to over 2,500 people.
