Michael Versackas
M.D.
 Dr. Michael Versackas was
born in Ottumwa, Iowa and spent some of his growing up years in Des Moines and
Waterloo. He received his B.A. with highest distinction, in Economics and
General Science from the University of Iowa. He was awarded Phi Beta Kappa. Dr.
Versackas graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1973
receiving his M.D. degree. Following his medical degree he did a rotating
internship in California. He undertook his residency in Ophthalmology at Barnes
Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Dr Versackas is certified
by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is also a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons.
Dr. Versackas has practiced ophthalmology since
1977 in Des Moines at Associated Ophthalmologists, P.C. He and his wife Diane,
reside in West Des Moines, Iowa and have three children. He and his wife have
been active with the Juvenile Diabetes organization and with the soccer and
Little League groups with his son.
